JJ Goodman’s Basil Grande

JJ Goodman says; “Basil Grande’s a sweet little thing, I love the combination of strawberries and basil – basil has a great quality of bringing out both a sweet and a savoury flavour.”

Ingredients

  • 25ml Chambord
  • 25ml Grand Marnier
  • 25ml cranberry juice
  • 4 Strawberries (whole)
  • 8 whole fresh basil leaves

Method

Add all ingredients into a coupet glass, then shake and strain the drink.

Garnish with a fresh basil leaf and ground black pepper

JJ Goodman’s Coriander-Labra

JJ Goodman says; “This cocktail is zingy, refreshing and the fresh coriander really makes limes flavour stand out. This would be my go-to drink on a night out.”

Ingredients

  • 50 ml gin
  • 16 coriander leaves
  • 6 lime wedges
  • 20ml Orgeat almond syrup
  • 25 ml apple juice

Method

Use a Collins glass to muddle the coriander and lime then add the lime wedges and crushed ice.

 

Garnish with Angostura bitters, a couple of coriander leaves and a lime twist.

JJ Goodman’s Thyme Will Tell

JJ Goodman says; “Peach and thyme are delicious together and a little bit of Prosecco just gives this cocktail that extra sparkle!”

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh thyme sprigs
  • 5 ml lemon
  • 20 ml peach purée
  • 50 ml Prosecco
  • 25 Jack Daniels
  • 25 peach liquor

Method

Add all ingredients, bar the Prosecco, into a coupet glass to shake and strain.

Top up the drink with bubbly Prosecco and garnish with plenty of fresh thyme.

Rosemary & Thyme Scented Warm Wine Punch

  • Prep: 5 minutes plus cooling
  • Cook: 10 minutes
  • Serves 8

Ingredients

  • 2 x 75cl bottle red wine
  • 600ml orange juice
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 1 pot rosemary, roughly chopped
  • 1 pot thyme, roughly chopped

Method

  • Place all the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring up to just boiling, simmer, covered for 10 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.
  • Pass through a sieve and serve warm.

Sloe Gin & Mint Fuzz

  • Serves: 2
  • Preparation time: 5m

Ingredients

  • Crushed ice
  • 6 tbsp sloe gin
  • 4 sprigs mint, roughly torn
  • Tonic or soda water

Method

  • Half fill 2 long glasses with crushed ice, add the mint and mix well with a spoon to help release the mint flavour.
  • Pour over the sloe gin and top up with tonic or soda.

Mint & Cranberry Smoothie

  • Serves: 2
  • Preparation time: 2 minutes
  • Cooking time: n/a

Ingredients

  • 600ml light cranberry juice
  • 100g fat free Greek yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh mint
  • 1 tbsp clear honey

Method

  • Place all the ingredients in a large jug and blend with a hand blender.  Pour into 2 tall glasses.
